12th Annual Broadkill River Canoe & Kayak Race 2011
Saturday, October 8, 2011 - Registration at 8:30 a.m. Race begins at 10:00 a.m. from Oyster Rocks Rd.
The 12th Annual Canoe and Kayak Race, benefitting the Milton Theatre, has been rescheduled for October 8th! The Milton Chamber of Commerce has rescheduled its "Bargains on the Broadkill" and "Great Duck Race" for the same date. The locations, time, sponsors, contact information and race details remain the same.
Anyone already registered for the event who cannot participate on October 8 will receive a refund. Please send an e-mail to mdc110@verizon.net with your request including your mailing address. Requests will be processed as quickly as possible.
The historic Milton Theatre brings the drama outdoors at the "wild & wet" 12th Annual Canoe and Kayak Race to support the future of the theatre. This popular race invites both pros and amateurs to paddle 10 miles on the beautiful, unspoiled Broadkill River for the greater glory of personal accomplishment and maybe win an award, too.
This race is held in partnership with "Bargains on the Broadkill," the annual Chamber of Commerce flea market and collectable show in Milton's Memorial Park behind the library. Milton's beautifully renovated town park will be festive with great food vendors, funnel cakes, lemonade, and the Milton Express miniature train from the Milton Lions Club will offer rides. The many bargains available will keep friends and families busy until all the paddlers reach the finish line.
